About Us
Who We Are
Patriot Labs builds sovereign AI for serious organizations. We serve customers operating in high-trust, data-sensitive, and high-consequence environments; where control is mandatory.
Our Founder
Paul F. Roysdon, Ph.D., is the founder, investor, and chief architect of Patriot Labs and its technology. He is the former Deputy Director of National Intelligence, former Leidos VP / Chief AI Scientist / Technical Fellow, and former NSA Chief Data Scientist with 25+ years building AI, cyber, autonomy, secure infrastructure, and mission systems for high-consequence environments and several OCONUS deployments.
Unlike many AI executives, Dr. Roysdon remains a hands-on builder. His recent work includes dataset curation, model pre-training, model distillation, fine-tuning, secure local AI systems, retrieval-augmented generation, document understanding, OCR pipelines, embeddings, reranking, model serving, evaluation workflows, browser-based analyst interfaces, and multimodal workflows spanning text, vision, code, audio, and structured data. He is the author of five technical books, 60+ publications, and multiple patents/patent filings.
Patriot Labs exists because Dr. Roysdon believes the most powerful AI systems for serious organizations will not be generic public chatbots. They will be private, source-grounded, secure, customer-controlled systems that operate where the real records are and where trust matters most.

Why We’re Different
We were the customer. Now we build for the customer.
Our perspective was shaped by real experience across national intelligence (CIA, NSA, ODNI), cyber, AI, mathematics, software, and senior executive leadership. We understand what secure systems look like when the mission is real, the data is sensitive, and failure has consequences.
This is not Silicon Valley shiny.
It is disciplined engineering for organizations that cannot afford weak controls, fragile systems, or AI hype.
Patriot Labs builds AI for organizations that cannot outsource control.
